Kessler Psychological offers psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, as well as psychological and forensic assessments. Insurance is accepted and we use a sliding scale for out of pocket payees. We treat all ages and mental health issues and our main goal is to assist Hampton Roads in fulfilling its potential by supporting the mental health of its community's members.
PSYCHOLOGICAL, we are focused on providing the mental health treatment
services that the clients need. We do not discriminate on any basis,
helping whoever needs and is willing to accept help. We attempt to help
people regardless of their financial status. Our goal is to meet the
community and its members where they are at, bringing care and expertise
to the table.
kinds of people come in for therapy and evaluations. Once you are aware
that you are unhappy in your life, there should be no barrier to
seeking help. Kessler Psychological is committed to offering help
without barriers. We are located in downtown Norfolk, close to buses and
light rail services, and there are many free parking options as well included reserved spots for our clients.
We also offer evening and Saturday hours, as well as creative solutions

A teaching clinic to boot.
Kessler Psychological also serves as a teaching clinic for mental health practitioners gaining education and/or hours towards licensure. At any given time there may be residents in counseling or social work with their completed Master's degrees gaining hours towards licensure by working with therapy clients as well as clinical psychology doctoral students doing the same with therapy and assessment clients. All of these clinicians are supervised by Dr. Kessler and/or Nikkiah Wyatt Smith, LPC.
Training clinicians to provide evidence-based, client-centered, empathic, mature, responsible, and self-aware treatment and evaluation is just as important as providing such treatment itself in healing this community.
